12:18 - the smudge effect on Sunderland’s feet on the black and white reprint was to make it look like he was struggling and kicking as he was being suffocated, instead of just dangling motionless with his eyes bugging out as in the original comic. I think it was to make his death more brutal.

The details are kind of easier to get in the original B&W version (not a fan of colorizing this story) but I can clear up one mystery you presented: Look again at the page where he sets up the beacon and sits against the ship to wait to be rescued. He is looking at the many moons rising, but what can you perceive about the yellow moon in the middle...? It doesn't rise! See how he sits up startled in the last panel? In the B&W version, you can see the startle marks around his head. Staring at the unmoving moon, he realizes it's actually a distant dome structure and grabs his binoculars to confirm, then gathers his gear to set off. However, next page, it's way farther away than he thinks, hence the page where he is walking, then resting, then collapsing flat out with exhaustion in panel 8. Finally he arrives at the end of the page (I also think these traveling pages are a bit of him demonstrating that he's a master of comics art in its purest, wordless form. He didn't have to be totally hyped up on every page like he would in his superhero work, since this was for created for his own edification. And a nod to European comix, as you mentioned).

Minor production thing I noticed.. Your voices are off center and for a video like this I think it makes more sense to make the audio mono. I have a mono button on my setup for just this kind of thing, but just so you know mono is probably the way to go for voice over videos like this.

Over 40 years ago, I bought a copy of that book and started copying those incredible paintings onto vans and motorcycle tanks. Frank is one of the greatest unsung artists ever. Having seen your video I may breakout the airbrush and paint a Frazetta on my Harley. Thanks guys!

It’s disturbing how life imitated art here for Ed,his own life was dismantled for what seems like a misunderstanding and missing context. How could anyone know what his intentions were? It did look bad but again we don’t know what was in his head. He deserved the chance to explain himself and defend himself. It’s not right to be able to so easily ruin someone without hearing both/all sides. Idk if this comment will be posted and I guess it doesn’t matter

I store my AE's flat, and out of an abundance of caution try not to stack them more than 3-4 high, if avoidable. My Wood AE also has that exact same "spine shift", so I wonder if that was just mfg. issue on the first print run, or if it wasn't properly "relaxed" by the original owner.

What you guys are not mentioning is frazetta’s sensuality. He went for very erotic hips, butts and legs when others were happy with blonde hair, porcelain skin and tits. The women were very latin looking.

Dawn is good and probably makes the top 5 90s Bad Girls but the number 1 spot is always going to be Lady Death. From her first solo title all the way to the end of her Crucible mini series was high quality then the 1997 ongoing series derails all that momentum and she never recovers.

I bought a full run of the Cannon books that were published by Eros. I think there was a naked chick on every page in some of those issues.
